Your Support Matters
The event provided an opportunity for children to spend quality time outdoors with their parents and family members while participating in fun and educational activities. A total of 31 children attended the Colour Run, which focused on important lessons about respect, kindness, anti-bullying, and the correct use of the different coloured waste bags provided by the municipality.
The event was organised through the Municipality’s Sport and Youth Development Department and the Disability and Older Persons Department. The departmental representatives coordinated the venue arrangements and invited various stakeholders to participate in the day.
Representatives from the Department of Social Development and the Municipality’s Waste Management Department also joined the event, contributing valuable educational activities and support.
Through games and interactive activities, the children learned about responsible waste management and the importance of treating others with respect. The event created a positive environment where learning and fun went hand in hand.
One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for children and families to enjoy the outdoors after several days of heavy rain and poor weather. With sunshine overhead and plenty of space to play, both young and old embraced the activities with enthusiasm.
The day served as a reminder that laughter truly is a universal language. Despite the intellectual and physical challenges many of the children face, they participated wholeheartedly and enjoyed every moment of the event.
Mossel Bay APD extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to making the Colour Run a success. Special thanks go to the Municipal Team led by Azaria, as well as the Department of Social Development and Municipal Waste Management for their valuable support and involvement.
The organisation also gratefully acknowledges the generous sponsors who provided lunch and treats for the children of Ilitha Lethu Day Care Centre: Topsave, Gattis, Hyper Meat and Vegetables, Lynx Creek Spur Hartenbos, and Mrs Susan Moodie.
Mossel Bay APD thanks its stakeholders, sponsors, volunteers, staff members, and community partners whose time, energy, and commitment helped create a day filled with learning, laughter, and happy memories.
The organisation looks forward to hosting another Colour Run in the future and continuing to create opportunities where children can learn, grow, and simply enjoy being children.
