Your Support Matters
On 6 February 2026, the staff of Mossel Bay Association of and for Persons with Disabilities(MBAPD) gathered for a relaxed and joyful braai at the Mossel Bay APD premises. It was a simple moment, yet a deeply meaningful one — an opportunity to pause, connect, and say a sincere thank you.
The gathering, which included a shared braai and a variety of salads, was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Municipality and the Mayor. Their support created space for staff members to come together outside of their daily responsibilities and reflect on the work they do and the community they serve.
Mossel Bay APD works daily within the disability sector, an environment that requires dedication, empathy, and resilience. Opportunities like this are not taken for granted. They remind staff that their efforts are seen and valued, and that partnership between organisations and local government truly matters.
What stood out most during the day was not the food, but the spirit of gratitude and togetherness. Conversations flowed easily, laughter was shared, and there was a strong sense of mutual appreciation. It was a reminder that meaningful support does not always need to be grand. Sometimes, it is found in showing up, creating connection, and recognising the people behind the work.
Mossel Bay APD extends heartfelt thanks to the Municipality and the Mayor for their willingness to support those working within the disability sector. Every act of support — whether large or small — reflects a commitment to inclusion, dignity, and empowerment for persons with disabilities.
Moments like these strengthen relationships, build morale, and reinforce a shared vision for a more inclusive community. Together, in gratitude and community spirit, we continue to rise and move forward.
