Your Support Matters
The Mossel Bay Association of and for Persons with Disabilities recently awarded a Certificate of Thanks to Susan Muir, Treasurer and member of the Management Committee (ManCom), in appreciation of her ongoing commitment and service.
The certificate, presented on 17 February 2026, recognises Susan for truly living out the message “Inclusion Starts With Us.” In her role as Treasurer, Susan brings more than financial oversight to the table. She is a steady, reliable presence within the organisation, contributing to sound decision-making, accountability, and long-term sustainability. Her involvement reflects a deep understanding of the responsibility that comes with leadership and service.
Susan’s contribution is marked by consistency and a willingness to step in where needed. Whether supporting governance processes or engaging in broader organisational initiatives, she plays an important role in ensuring that the Association remains focused on its core purpose: advancing the rights, dignity, and participation of persons with disabilities.
This recognition also connects with the broader #MiAPD movement. #MiAPD represents a shift in how disability inclusion is understood and practised. It is a reminder that inclusion is not the task of one organisation alone, but a shared responsibility across communities, businesses, and individuals. The movement calls on people to move beyond good intentions and take practical, everyday action that supports meaningful inclusion.
By honouring Susan Muir, highlights the value of leadership rooted in service. Her example shows that inclusion is built through commitment, responsibility, and people who are willing to lead with purpose.
The Association extends its sincere thanks to Susan for her dedication and for helping turn the principles of inclusion into lived reality within the organisation and the wider community.
