Your Support Matters
Mossel Bay Association of and for Persons with Disabilities (Mossel Bay APD) recently welcomed a new addition that will make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of the people it serves – a new transport vehicle.
The organisation is deeply grateful to have reached a position where purchasing a new vehicle became possible. Reliable transport plays a critical role in ensuring that services are delivered safely and consistently to people with disabilities in the Mossel Bay community.
The new vehicle will primarily be used to transport children attending the iLitha Lethu Daycare Centre. Every morning, children are collected from their homes and safely transported to the centre, where they receive care, stimulation and support during the day. In the afternoons, they are taken home again.
For parents and caregivers, this service provides peace of mind. For Mossel Bay APD, it represents the responsibility of ensuring that vulnerable children travel safely and with dignity.
The vehicle will also assist with the safe transport of staff members who work tirelessly to deliver services across the community.
This milestone reflects more than just improved mobility. It is also the result of responsible financial management and strong oversight within the organisation.
Mossel Bay APD recently received a clean audit for the 2024 financial year — an important achievement for any non-profit organisation. A clean audit confirms that the organisation’s financial records are accurate, transparent and fully compliant with required standards.
Strong financial management is not just about compliance; it is the foundation that enables organisations to grow sustainably and serve their communities effectively. The Management Committee of Mossel Bay APD maintains strict oversight of financial decisions, ensuring that resources are used carefully and responsibly.
This disciplined approach to financial management made it possible for the organisation to invest in a new vehicle without compromising the sustainability of its services.
For current and potential donors, this achievement sends a clear message: contributions entrusted to Mossel Bay APD are managed with care, accountability and purpose.
Every rand received is directed toward programmes and resources that have a tangible impact on the lives of people with disabilities and their families.
The new vehicle is therefore more than just transport. It is a visible reminder that when responsible leadership and community support come together, meaningful change becomes possible.
Mossel Bay APD remains committed to using every resource entrusted to it in ways that create the greatest possible impact for the community it serves.
